This includes export permits, certificates, and other required documents, which must be secured through continuous communication with the concerned agencies.
Preparing and Packaging the Shipment: Export shipments must be carefully prepared for transportation. This stage involves proper packaging and accurate product labeling to prevent damage during transit.
Shipping and Transportation: After preparing the shipment, it is sent to China via the chosen transportation method. Selecting the appropriate shipping method (sea, air, or land) is crucial.
Customs Clearance: Upon arrival in China, the shipment must be cleared by Chinese customs. This includes paying duties and taxes and submitting the required documents to customs authorities.
Delivery to Destination: After customs clearance, the shipment is delivered to its final destination in China. This stage involves coordination with business partners and providing after-sales services to customers.
How Are Exports to China Conducted?
Exports to China are typically carried out by ship under FOB (Free On Board) terms. Under this arrangement, the seller (exporter) is responsible for transportation costs until the goods are loaded onto the ship at the port of origin. Once the cargo is loaded, responsibility transfers to the buyer. This method offers the seller greater flexibility in selecting a shipping company, setting prices, and controlling costs. Additionally, shipping by sea is generally more economical for such cargo, as vessels are better suited for heavy and bulky shipments, resulting in relatively lower transportation costs.
Under this method, 30% of the product cost is typically paid before shipment, and the remaining 70% is paid once the cargo arrives at the port and is on board.
What Types of Bitumen Are Exported to China?
Bitumen exports to China are highly significant, and various types of bitumen are exported to this country. Barrel bitumen, jumbo bitumen, and bulk bitumen are among the main types exported to China.
Barrel bitumen is commonly used in construction and road projects due to its packaging in metal drums, which facilitates transportation. For example, it is used in road surfacing and building insulation.
Jumbo bitumen, due to its large volume and broader applications, is suitable for major infrastructure projects. It is packaged in large jumbo bags and is used in constructing ports, airports, bridges, and large buildings.
Bulk bitumen is transported unpackaged in containers or tankers and is used for massive construction and infrastructure projects requiring high volumes.
The type of bitumen exported to China depends on the buyer's requirements.
